Contest Mechanics

  1. PROMO PERIOD

    The contest runs from October 31, 2024 to November 24, 2024

  2. HOW TO JOIN

    1. In order to qualify for the TV5 Tinig ng Pasko Christmas Chorale Competition, interested groups should be composed of a minimum of six (6) members up to a maximum of fifteen (15) members (not inclusive of conductors and technical team), may be composed of all male, all female or mixed male and female individuals, Filipino, with each member able to present a valid government ID that would prove that he/she is within 18 to 65 years of age.

    2. The contest is open to chorale groups with members who are residents of Luzon and Visayas. The majority of the members of a participating group must be residing within Luzon and Visayas regions where they registered or representing. Existing singing groups or choirs of schools, colleges, universities, public or private companies or corporations, churches will be allowed to join provided that the address they register is based on the location of the institution that they are representing. The Grand winners and finalist groups of the previous TV5 Tinig ng Pasko Chorale competitions will be allowed to join. A group may invite singers residing outside Luzon and Visayas regions provided that the invited singers who will be joining their group will not exceed more than 20% of the total number of members. A group may also invite professional singers to join them provided that the count of professional signers will not exceed more than 30% of the total number of members.

      1. Area 1 - Valenzuela: open to all Luzon-based groups
      2. Area 2 - Cebu: open to all Visayas-based groups
      3. Area 3 - Manila: open to all Luzon-based groups

    3. To participate in the contest, interested and qualified groups must comply with the following:

      1. Create a Video

        The group must record a video of themselves singing one (1) Christmas song in the public domain (any Christmas song out of copyright). The performance may be rendered in acapella or with musical accompaniment. The group may also record the video wearing costumes and with choreography.
        The duration of the video recording may not exceed fifteen (15) minutes. Video file must be in .wav, .mov, .flv, .avi or .mp4 format.

      2. Register to the Contest

        A designated representative of the group can register through Google Form Link, (here), as shared from the TV5 website (http://tv5.com.ph/2024-christmas-chorale). The group representative should submit the following information through the Google Form Link:

        1. Group Name
        2. Full Name of group representative
        3. Full Name of alternative group representative
        4. Full names of each group member
        5. City Address of all group members (as reflected on valid government ID that will be presented)
        6. Birth month and birthyear of all group members
        7. Contact number/s of the group representatives
        8. Valid e-mail address/es of the group representatives

        The Crea8 & TV5 team will screen the video first to ensure that the video entry is working and is not corrupted. The Crea8 & TV5 team will also review the video entry to prevent offensive and/or sexual content before accepting the entry. Any video entry with offensive or sexual content will automatically be disqualified.

    4. All entries should be submitted within the following cut-off period:

      At the end of the Submission period, a representative from the official agency of TV5 will collect all submitted video entries. All entries will be screened at the TV5 office located at 3F Launchpad Bldg. Reliance St. corner Sheridan, Mandaluyong City. Each entry will be scored based on the following set of criteria to determine the top twelve (12) groups who will be competing in the pre-finals contest event per area.

    5. The panel of judges will be composed of the following:

      a. TV5 Representative Dino M. Laurena
      b. Celebrity Judges MJ Marfori
      Maoui David
      Macky Macaventa
      Jhett Baroma
    6. The Top Twelve (12) Groups who qualified as Pre-Finalists per Area will be announced via the TV5’s Official Facebook account (https://www.facebook.com/TV5manila) and posted on the local barangay hall/event location based on the schedule above.

    7. For the Pre-Finals contest event, all participating groups should be present at the venue at least three (3) hours before the start of the contest proper and ready to do a live performance of the Christmas song that they submitted on their video entry. If a participating group is unable to arrive on time or has more than incomplete members at the start of the contest or is unable to perform the same audition piece as their submitted entry, said group will be disqualified and forfeits his/her chance to participate in the contest. All costs associated with participating in this contest, including but not limited to costumes, props, meals, travel expenses, and accommodation, will not be covered by the sponsor. Participating groups are responsible for their own expenses.

    8. From among the Top Twelve (12) Pre-finalists present who will compete during the event, the three (3) groups with the highest scores will be declared as winners per Area. They will receive the following prizes:

      • 1st Place winner will receive Forty Thousand Pesos (P40,000.00) cash + slot to participate in the Grand Finals
      • 2nd Place winner will receive Thirty Thousand Pesos (P30,000.00) cash + slot to participate in the Grand Finals
      • 3rd Place winner will receive Twenty Thousand Pesos (P20,000.00) cash + slot to participate in the Grand Finals
      • Non-winning Pre-Finalists will receive Ten Thousand Pesos (P10,000.00) cash each

    9. In the event of a tie, the combined scores for Voice Quality and Visual Presentation will be the basis for determining the winner. The group with the higher score will be declared as the winner. In the event of a tie on the combined scores for the two (2) criteria, the judges will be asked to reconvene and discuss which group will be declared as the winner based on overall performance.

    10. The Top three (3) winners per Area will then compete in the Grand Finals which will be held on December 08, 2024, 6:00PM at the Market! Market! Mall, 22nd Street corner McKinley Parkway, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City 1634 Metro Manila. Each Grand Finalist will be asked to perform two (2) songs where their first song will be the Christmas song that they submitted as an entry and the second song will be their own rendition of the TV5 Christmas Jingle (Contest Piece).

    11. All nine (9) Grand Finalists will be judged based on a set of criteria to determine the top three (3) Grand Winners.

    14. On the event of the Grand Finals, all participating groups should be present at the venue at least three (3) hours before the start of the contest proper and ready to do a live performance of the Christmas song that they submitted on their video entry. If a participating group is unable to arrive on time or has incomplete members at the start of the contest or is unable to perform the same audition piece as their submitted entry, said group will be disqualified and forfeits his/her chance to participate in the contest. For Luzon-based groups, all costs associated with participating in this contest, including but not limited to costumes, props, meals, travel expenses, and accommodation, will not be covered by the sponsor. Participating groups are responsible for their own expenses. For non-Luzon-based groups, all costs associated with participating in this contest, including but not limited to costumes, props, and travel expenses, will not be covered by the sponsor. Participating groups are responsible for their own expenses. However, the Sponsor will provide for the food and overnight accommodation (3 main meals and overnight accommodation) for the period that said participating groups are required to be present in Manila for the contest.

    15. From among the Nine (9) Grand Finalists who will compete during the event, the three (3) groups with the highest scores will be declared as winners. They will receive the following prizes:

      • 1st Place winner will receive Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (P500,000.00) cash
      • 2nd Place winner will receive Two Hundred Thousand Pesos (P200,000.00) cash
      • 3rd Place winner will receive One Hundred Fifty Thousand Pesos (P150,000.00) cash
      • Non-winning Grand Finalists will receive Ten Thousand Pesos (P10,000.00) cash each

    16. In the event of a tie, the combined scores for Voice Quality and Visual Presentation will be the basis for determining the winner. The group with the higher score will be declared as the winner. In the event of a tie on the combined scores for the two (2) criteria, the judges will be asked to reconvene and discuss which group will be declared as the winner based on overall performance.

    17. The winners will be announced during the event after the scores are tabulated and verified by the Representatives from TV5 Network Inc and DTI. The decision of the judges is deemed final.

    18. Employees of TV5 Network Inc. and its subsidiaries, including their relatives up to second degree of consanguinity are not qualified to join the Contest.

  3. CLAIMING of PRIZES

    1. The prizes for the weekly leg will be immediately awarded after each contest event. For the prizes of the Grand Finalists, the group representative/s may claim their prize from the TV5 Office, Reliance St., Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila every Thursdays between 2:00PM to 4:00PM beginning January 23, 2025. Winners shall shoulder all the costs they may incur in securing their prize (Travel Expenses, Accommodation, Meals, etc.).
    2. Prizes shall be awarded only upon completion of the entire validation process.
    3. When claiming the prize, the Group Representative/s must present the following: Two (2) valid government-issued ID with complete real name, picture and correct address (SSS ID, PRC ID, Driver’s License, Passport, Senior Citizen Card, OWWA ID, OFW ID, GSIS e-Card, Philhealth Card, Seaman’s Book, Alien Certification of Registration/Immigrant Certificate of Registration, Firearm’s License, Postal ID, NBI Clearance, Police Clearance) or private-owned issued ID (Company ID, School ID)
    4. Winners must claim their prizes within sixty (60) days from receipt of notification. Prizes unclaimed within 60 days from receipt of registered mail are forfeited in favor of TV Network Inc with prior written DTI approval.
    5. Prizes amounting to Ten Thousand Pesos (P10,000.00) and above are subject to twenty percent (20%) prize tax which will be shouldered by TV5 Network Inc.

  4. CONTROL MEASURES

    1. Upon submission of the entry, the official representative from TV5’s agency will check the completeness of the information entered on the registration form. The group representative/s will also be asked to present a valid government ID to confirm identity.
    2. After verification of entry, the official representative from TV5’s agency will then screen the video first to ensure that the video entry is working and is not corrupted. The representative will also review the video entry to prevent offensive and/or sexual content before accepting the entry. Any video entry with offensive or sexual content will automatically be disqualified.   
    3. All submitted entries will then be kept for safekeeping of the TV5’s agency and will be collected by a designated TV5 Representative for the next screening process to determine the top twelve (12) Finalists per Area.
    4. On the judging of Finalists per Area, each video entry will be judged using the criteria provided. All scores will be entered into provided Score Sheets and collated in a Tally Sheet.
    5. After which, the top twelve (12) groups with the highest score will be declared as the Finalists per Area.
    6. In the event of a tie, the combined scores for Voice Quality and Visual Presentation will be the basis for determining the winner. The group with the higher score will be declared as the winner. In the event of a tie on the combined scores for the two (2) criteria, the judges will be asked to reconvene and discuss which group will be declared as the winner based on overall performance.
    7. On the Pre-Finals Contest, all twelve (12) groups will perform live and will be judged using the same criteria provided. All scores will be entered into provided Score Sheets and collated in a Tally Sheet.
    8. After which, the top three (3) groups with the highest score will be declared as the Winning Groups per Area where the 1st, 2nd , 3rd prize winners will earn a slot to participate as Grand Finalists.
    9. In the event of a tie, the combined scores for Voice Quality and Visual Presentation will be the basis for determining the winner. The group with the higher score will be declared as the winner. In the event of a tie on the combined scores for the two (2) criteria, the judges will be asked to reconvene and discuss which group will be declared as the winner based on overall performance.
    10. For the Grand Finals, all nine (9) groups will perform live and will be judged using the same criteria provided. All scores will be entered into provided Score Sheets and collated in a Tally Sheet.
    11. After which, the top three (3) groups with the highest score will be declared as the Grand Winners where the group with the highest score will have the opportunity to sing the TV5 Christmas Jingle.
    12. In the event of a tie, the combined scores for Voice Quality and Visual Presentation will be the basis for determining the winner. The group with the higher score will be declared as the winner. In the event of a tie on the combined scores for the two (2) criteria, the judges will be asked to reconvene and discuss which group will be declared as the winner based on overall performance.

  5. DATA PRIVACY NOTICE AND PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

    1. TV5 Network, Inc. (the “Sponsor”) shall protect the data that participants provided in compliance with the Data Privacy Law of 2012 and its implementing rules and regulations. The Company will not collect, disclose or process personal data, including data that may be classified as personal information and/or sensitive personal information unless the participant voluntarily choose to provide it and give consent thereto, or unless such disclosure is required by applicable laws and regulations. Personal or sensitive personal information is information pertaining to racial or ethnic origin, religious belief, political affiliations, education, health or information provided by government agencies which are peculiar to individuals and such other data declared to be sensitive.

    2. By submitting a raffle entry with the participant’s personal information, he/she confirms that he/she freely and voluntarily give consent to the collection of data, which may include personal information and/or sensitive information (the “Data”) provided by the participant or possessed by the Company for one or more purpose as stated below.

      The Company shall use the Data for the following purpose:

      • processing the engagement with the promo;
      • to conduct market research or related and analysis based on anonymized data, report the results to internal and external clients, affiliated or related companies and/or partners of TV5 Network, Inc.

    3. The Sponsor shall keep the Data throughout the term of the engagement between the promo participants and the Sponsor and for such period as may be necessary to accomplish the business purposes of the promo. The Sponsor shall take appropriate and commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to ensure the requisite data security to protect the Data against unauthorized disclosure or unauthorized access. The Sponsor shall require its affiliates, subsidiaries and third parties who process the Data to adhere to similar or comparable data protection standards as required by the Data Privacy Law of 2012.
    4. The participant understands that he/she is given certain rights under the Data Privacy Act, including the right to object to processing of his/her data, the right to access his/her data, the right to correct any inaccurate data, and the right to erasure or blocking of data. For more information on these rights, and for requests to review the Data, to withdraw consent to the use of the Data for any of the purpose stated above, and/or to correct or update the Data, participant should contact our Data Privacy Compliance Officer (Michael Rex O. Celiz) at tv5dataprivacy@tv5.com.ph.
